TIMELINE

1967 Company founded
1970’s Markets established in Farm Detergents and Industrial Chemicals
1980’s Product range expanded into Food Ingredients
1995 Moved to new Head Office Premises in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork
1996-99  Set up Pharmachemicals Division, Acquired Auxiliary Chemicals
2000-05 Acquisition of P&E Group in Belfast, Acquisition of Preference Chemicals in Cork, Distribution agreement signed with DSM Agro (Bulk Nitric & Ammonia), Distribution Agreements signed with Sasol, Helm and Cepsa (major expansion in the solvent business)
2006 Commissioned our new Bulk Solvent Storage and Drumming facility on site at Ringaskiddy
2008 Acquisition of MB Distribution in Dublin, distributors for AkzoNobel's Protective Coating range of products. This further grows our product offering to the Paint & Equipment Market
2009 Launch of Laboratory Chemicals and Reagents product range
2010 Carbon Group established a Chemical Management Systems division. 
2011 Signed a sole distribution agreement with Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings Ltd for Ireland

Carbon Group Cork site is accredited to the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS). Carbon Group has a QMS since 1996 and continues to surpass all the requirements associated with ISO9001:2008

ENVIRONMENTAL 

  • Conduct our business in compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations 
  •  Ensure efficient use of energy processes, raw materials and natural resources across all segments of our business and to minimise our quantity of waste and pollutants associated with our activities.
  • Work with relevant organisations, government bodies and public groups to promote efficiency in solid waste management through recycling, re-use and energy recovery of material.
  • Provide employees with a healthy and safe environment together with effective information and training to encourage the individual's contribution towards environmental responsibility.

TRAINING

Carbon Group operates in a fast moving business environment. The individuals in Carbon Group represent the real asset base of the company. In order to continue growing existing business areas and to enter new business areas, we continually train our staff and recruit staff with new specialist skills.
